COSTS

How much will it cost?

Clear, specialist immigration pricing — fixed fees whenever possible, with hourly rates that reflect over 25 years of focused expertise.

Transparency first

Pricing that reflects specialist expertise

JHI is a specialist immigration firm owned by Jenny Harvey, a well-known and very experienced solicitor who has specialised in immigration advice for over 25 years. Our costs reflect her expertise and the fact that, unlike many competitors, she only advises on immigration — so she really can call herself a specialist.

It is not possible to cover every aspect of immigration advice below, but we have set out our main rates and typical costs for common matters. We can of course provide a costs estimate and possible fixed fee offer for advice not specifically mentioned.

HOW WE CHARGE

Clear fees, no surprises

Hourly rates for individuals and businesses, with fixed fees offered whenever your matter allows.

Individuals

£375 / hour

Our standard hourly rate for individuals is £375. This applies to most personal immigration matters unless a fixed fee is agreed.

Businesses

£385 / hour

Businesses including innovator founders are charged at £385 per hour. The same higher rate may apply by agreement for evening, weekend, complex or urgent work.

Fixed fees

Wherever possible

When possible a fixed fee will be offered. It may not apply if a case becomes more complicated than anticipated, or if there are unusual delays — we will tell you in advance.

GOOD TO KNOW

Important notes on fees

VAT

VAT will be charged at 20% on our fees for clients who live in the UK. VAT may not apply where an applicant lives outside the UK.

Dependents

We will generally charge an additional £375 per dependent on top of a fixed fee when dependents are joined to the main application.

Compassionate rates

Sometimes we will charge a lower hourly or fixed fee where there are compassionate circumstances. This is entirely at our discretion.

Disbursements

You may need to pay disbursements we incur on your behalf — translators, medical reports, Home Office fees, or travel. We will tell you in advance, including any VAT.

Costs you may pay direct

There may be additional costs you pay directly, including Home Office fees, visa fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge. These differ by application and how long you wish to remain in the UK — we will advise you of the amounts in advance.
